Day 147… Wednesday 16th August
A shorter drive time up to Otavi today (3 hours 40 ,minutes). Flatter drier landscape with herds of cattle. Stopped for diesel – friendly staff dancing to music. Very happy bunch. Worth mentioning that at fuel stations, you stay in the car and staff will fill up for you and wash the windscreen. Always friendly service and small change is passed over. I shall miss this arrangement on my return to the UK. Our campsite was at Otavi Vineyards. One of my favourite campsites from 6 weeks ago. We had pre-ordered a cheese/meat platter and wine. Say enjoying the sunset, beautiful views of the mountains and the stars.
Allen’s perspective…
We finally managed to take the top cover off the tent and sleep with the stars above us. Although a little chilly during the night it was a real treat and hopefully something we can do more often now it is getting warmer.
