Chilaxing in Cabinda

Day 78… Sunday 18th June

Greta needs insurance for Angola as the carnet is not accepted in this country.  As it was Sunday, most places were closed so decided a day of rest would be sensible.  Somewhere on route from the Congo border, the entire 80 litre water tank had drained and the house battery run dry where both switches had accidently been knocked on.  A large supermarket opposite the hotel was open so stocked up on water bottles.

Allen’s perspective…

We did go for a stroll around Cabinda but suffice to say it is a city lacking any sense of beauty. The usual mix of rubbish, dilapidated buildings, and an overall state of decay resulted in a swift about turn and return to the hotel for a drink and to read a book.
